Create A Clean Test Profile

Post by Toady » Tue Sep 23, 2014 9:28 am

Cyberfox Profile:
You can create a clean profile with minimal interruption and will not affect your current profile.

Right click cyberfox desktop shortcut and select property's
Select the shortcut tab now in the target section add space then -p at the end of "path\to\Cyberfox.exe" so it looks like this "path\to\Cyberfox.exe" -p
(Important: There must be a space between "path\to\Cyberfox.exe" and -p or you will receive an error message)
Now click apply and ok button.

Now double click the cyberfox desktop shortcut you just edited and select create profile
Now click next on the information window
Now give it a name then select finish
Now select the profile just made in the list and click start cyberfox

Once your finished testing you can start the profile manager again select the test profile you just created and select delete
Please remember to re-edit the desktop shortcut to remove the -p for profile manager after testing otherwise the profile manager will keep showing.

Alternate Options:
Alternatively you can just rename appdata\roaming\8pecxstudios to 8pecxstudios-backup then run cyberfox it will create a new profile.
Once you have finished testing delete the 8pecxstudios folder in appdata\roaming\8pecxstudios
Now rename 8pecxstudios-backup folder back to its original name 8pecxstudios.
Important: Do not delete 8pecxstudios-backup or permanent loss of original profile and data can occur

Pre: Cyberfox 28.0.1
Alternate Options:
Alternatively you can just rename appdata\roaming\mozilla to mozilla-backup then run cyberfox it will create a new profile.
Once you have finished testing delete the Mozilla folder in appdata\roaming\mozilla
Now rename mozilla-backup folder back to its original name Mozilla.
Important: Do not delete mozilla-backup or permanent loss of original profile and data can occur
